WA Voluntary Assisted Dying Legislation Consultation

Closed 24 May 2019

Opened 19 Mar 2019

Overview

The Minister for Health has established a Ministerial Expert Panel (the Panel) to advise on key issues for Voluntary Assisted Dying Legislation. The Panel has developed a discussion paper to support this consultation. You can access the discussion paper under the 'Related' links heading below.

The Panel is now seeking input from experts and across the community and invites you to provide responses to the questions outlined in the discussion paper. You can answer some or all of the questions.

Your reponses to the discussion paper will inform the Panel and will be incorporated into a final report which will be presented to the Minister for Health.

It is not the purpose of this paper, nor of the Panel, to review or debate the arguments for or against voluntary assisted dying which were the subject of the Joint Select Committee’s inquiry and its recommendations.

Submissions that are considered by the Panel will be published on our website unless you request that it remains confidential.

If reading this information on voluntary assisted dying has raised distressing issues for you the following helplines can be contacted for support:

LifeLine WA 13 11 14 (available 24/7) or online chat www.lifelinewa.org.au
The Suicide Call Back Service 1300 659 467(available 24/7) or online chat www.suicidecallbackservice.org.au
