Paid participation in WA Department of Health engagement activities

Closed 26 Oct 2025

Opened 2 Oct 2025

Overview

The WA Department of Health is committed to strengthening partnerships with consumers, carers, and community members in the design, delivery, and evaluation of health services. As part of this commitment, we offer payments to consumers as recognition for their valuable contributions to Department-led engagement activities.

This survey is focused specifically on paid consumer participation in engagement activities conducted by the WA Department of Health. It does not cover engagement approaches used by individual health service providers (such as the Child and Adolescent Health Service, North, East and South Metropolitan Health Services, and the WA Country Health Service), who have their own separate processes for consumer participation.

We invite consumers, carers, community members, advocates, and representatives to share their experiences and insights. Your feedback will help us better understand and improve how payments are offered and managed for Department of Health engagement activities.

Why your views matter

Your insights, whether you’ve been paid for your contributions, supported someone who has, or simply have observations to share, are valued. They will help us ensure that paid participation is appropriate and meaningful for everyone involved.

What happens next

Thank you for taking the time to share your experiences and insights. Your feedback will help inform the Department of Health’s ongoing review of how paid participation is managed for consumers, carers, and community members involved in engagement activities.
