Draft Implementation Plan One 2019-2021

Closed 19 Jul 2019

Opened 2 Jul 2019

Overview

You are invited to review and provide feedback on the draft Implementation Plan One 2019-2021 (Implementation Plan One).

Implementation Plan One aims to guide implementation of the WA End-of-life and Palliative Care Strategy 2018-2028 (Strategy) at both a state and local level.  It is relevant to all health systems and services in WA supporting and caring for people with life-limiting illness, including patients and families.

Implementation Plan One addresses Strategy implementation in-line with the Outcomes Report from the End-of-life and Palliative Care Strategy Implementation Forum 2018 in September 2018, and the 12 Joint Select Committee (JSC) recommendations relating to end-of-life and palliative care from the JSC inquiry into End of Life Choices My Life, My Choice.  Implementation Plan One also takes into account the Sustainable Health Review: Final Report to the Western Australian Government 2019 released in April 2019.

The WA Cancer and Palliative Care Network (WACPCN), WA Department of Health, led and coordinated the development of Implementation Plan One.  The End-of-life and Palliative Care Advisory Committee was the overarching governance group that contributed to its development.

Why your views matter

The WACPCN invites feedback from a broad range of stakeholders including carers, consumers, researchers, health care professionals and service providers.  The aim is to review whether the suggested actions and recommended measures in Implementation Plan One are achievable, and to ensure the views of the broader health system and community are accurately represented.

What happens next

Your feedback will be considered for amendments to Implementation Plan One. Implementation Plan One will then be finalised and released.
