WA Youth Health Policy Service Provider Consultation

Closed 14 Dec 2017

Opened 19 Oct 2017

The Western Australian Youth Health Policy 2018 - 2023 (The Policy) and the extensive consultations with young people in our state are a reflection of the increased recognition of youth health as a priority area both in Australia and internationally.

The policy was developed by the Child and Youth Health Network to demonstrate the Western Australian (WA) health system’s commitment towards achieving the shared vision and strategic priorities of Healthy, Safe and Thriving: National Strategic Framework for Child and Youth Health.

The Policy aims to drive equitable, effective and coordinated health services that optimise the health and wellbeing of young people aged 10-24 years in WA.

While the primary audience of the Policy is the WA health system, improvements in youth health require the involvement of a range of agencies working collaboratively to achieve common goals. It is recommended that the approaches outlined within the Policy are adopted by multiple agencies that provide services to young people.

The current drafts of the Policy and Companion Resource are available in PDF and Word for you to read under the 'Related' heading below.

If you have any queries or need assistance, please contact Health Networks either by email healthpolicy@health.wa.gov.au or phone 9222 0200.

Why We Are Consulting

It is important that service providers along with people in the WA community have input into the WA Youth Health Policy.  Your valuable feedback will be used to inform the final version of the Policy.

This consultation is for health service providers, government agencies, not-for-profit agencies, private organisations and other stakeholders.

If you wish to provide feedback on the Policy from the perspective of a person who uses health services (a consumer), please visit the consumer survey https://consultation.health.wa.gov.au/strategy/consumer_survey

If you wish to participate in a survey asking more general questions about youth health, please visit the Community Conversations survey https://consultation.health.wa.gov.au/strategy/community_conversations
